Signature Drinks add a personal touch

17Feb10

Looking for some cute ways to add some personality to your wedding day?  How about a signature cocktail?  It’s such a basic idea that it’s often over-looked, but let’s take a few minutes to talk benefits.

A signature cocktail, is just that; signature!  Meaning, it’s a reflection of you, what you like and what kind of style you want represented at your wedding.  Just about any colour can be created, and those colours can be further enhanced  with an accenting ribbon or label in a  complimentary colour.

The flavours you choose, the shape of the glass, and how you garnish it will also help set the tone for the over-all feel of your day.  Whether you want to go with a dressed up martini made with top-shelf vodka, or something a little more playful like the pink grapefruit mojitos pictured here, you can use signature drinks to add a little extra pizazz to your event.

“But I’m on a budget, so what about costs?” Have no fear!  Signature drinks can often be used as a way to bring your costs down.  Mixed drinks don’t need to be made of high-end liqueurs (you can… but chances are that your guests will enjoy them either way), and by having them as an option at the bar, you can actually limit the other choices.  You can choose to offer beer, wine and your signature cocktail, instead of a full open bar.  This still gives your guests a variety of drinks to choose from but it let’s you gain better control over what you’re supplying.

There is a great tool over at the knot to help you pick your signature drink, including the recipe for this Pink Grapefruit Mojito.
