Event Décor – Colour Watch… Butter Yellow & Grey

Always a classic and one of our favorite colour combinations we expect to see for this coming season is a soft butter yellow with varying tones of grey. Although subtle, these two paired together make a beautiful palette.

What we like about it
The contrast of the warmth and softness of the yellow and the bold, masculine grey creates a fun juxtaposition. Sweet and cute accents mixed with small touches of grey are a wonderful way to incorporate this colour duo on your special day.

Where we’re seeing it
Soft shades of yellow are appearing in many wedding gown collections and make a beautiful update to the much-loved white. Whimsical accents like the tissue paper pom poms and grey yarn balls below are a great way to bring joy and fun to your decor. The idea of light grey baubles and leaves tucked within white roses for the bouquet can also be carried over into centrepieces and boutonniers. A signature drink is always a great way to make your event memorable. Try something with juice or honey, garnished with a lemon to bring a little pop to your beverage.

If you are worried about having too much of a soft feminine feel and want to punch it up a bit, try using darker greys in the stationary and bonbonnieres. Cute tuxedo boxes (as seen below) are a great way to bring in a touch of masculinity and fun. Mix your girly side with bold touches of grey and your guests are sure to love it!
